CHALLENGE

Sustainable Oceans Alliance (SOA) was a relatively new nonprofit with an ambitious founder and a big goal. They wanted to let the world know that they would be the leader in transforming the global approach to the earth's ocean conservation.

With so much to prove, we needed to incorporate many elements into this event, including:

  • Creating a splashy presence at the Global Climate Action Summit

  • Showcasing their first cohort of incubator start-ups

  • Fundraising for future cohorts and global project expansion

  • Introducing their founder, Daniela, as a leader in the industry

SOLUTION

To ensure a meaningful and lasting first impression, here's how we approached it:

  • Selecting the Academy of Sciences as our venue allowed us to incorporate on theme interactive and decor with their aquarium, planetarium, and commitment to sustainability

  • Partnering with vendors who showcased their sustainability initiatives along with a commitment for high quality ensured donors felt well cared for

  • Providing ample space to the start-up cohort to mix and mingle with potential investors and mentors

  • Emphasizing the mission's messaging and key facts regarding SOA's potential impact through technology and decor
