JOYCE

Q: Where do you call home? Where would your dream work from home location be?

A: I live in Sausalito, CA a small town of about 7,000 residents located just north of the Golden Gate Bridge. The town has stunning views of the San Francisco bay, easy access to the water, great restaurants and tight knit community.  Sausalito is my dream WFH location - I am so lucky!

Q: Tell us about your journey with Bash Creative. How did you get started and how did you get here?

A: I moved to California from the east coast 7 years ago determined to find a life and a job that I am passionate about.  I started working for Bash in 2018 as a contractor, was hired in 2019 as their executive assistant (and first employee) and am now Bash's Business Manager.  My first meeting with Annalee and Danielle was at a coffee shop where the discussion was about values, goals and what I was learning and doing in my life. They knew that skills can be acquired but aligned cultural and values cannot.  It has been an amazing experience!

Q: How do you stay motivated while working from home?

A: I plan out my day the night before - what time I will start working, projects to focus on, tasks to complete, etc.  Every 2 hours or so I take a little break - wash the dishes, stretch, call or text a friend or family member.  I need to disconnect in order to give my all and stay motivated in a remote environment.

Q: What is your favorite practice/tool/ app to stay organized?

A: My to-do list is on my calendar.  I need to get everything out of my head and in writing so that it doesn't keep cycling through my brain and I can focus on getting things done.  If it's not written down, chances are it won't happen.

Q: What keeps your hustle going every day? What motivates you?

A: I love my job and our team and I want to contribute my very best to both.

Q: What is your favorite way to unwind at the end of the day?

A: A long hike in nature and minimizing the amount of time I spend looking at any screens.

Q: What are you most looking forward to in the future for events?

A: Looking forward to seeing everything from a new perspective.  Never taking anything for granted.  Life is a series of small moments & connections - many of which have been taken away. Check out the interview below:

TONI

Q: Where do you call home? Where would your dream work from home location be?

A: I reside in Capistrano Beach, CA which is a small beach town squeezed on a bluff between Dana Point and San Clemente.  I feel most productive working inside during snowy or rainy weather so in this case, My dream WFH location would be in a mountain cabin with a desk situated near a large panoramic window.

Q: Tell us about your journey with Bash Creative. How did you come to be the event operations manager?

A: I assisted Danielle as a contractor on an annual multi-day event in connection with Dreamforce in 2018 & 2019.  As Bash continued to grow Annalee and Danielle created a position to play to my strengths and thus the Event Operation Manager role was born. It is a unique role that marries day-to-day tasks such as budgets and vendor mgmt but also allows use of my creative side on special projects.  I am truly grateful for the opportunity to create with this magic team.

Q: What’s the most challenging aspect of balancing motherhood while working?

A: Mom guilt is real, especially right before a show.  Working long hours and then leaving to be onsite. The kids quickly forget my absence as the gifts descend upon them.  Lego makes awesome cityscape sets that I bring back from the city visited. If the area does not have a Lego store, I'll hit the local museum gift shop.

Q: What is your favorite practice/tool/ app to stay organized?

A:  Gchat is a great way to get quick answers from the team.  Feel free to send app recommendations my way!

Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

A: Treat others how you would like to be treated.

Q: What is your favorite way to unwind at the end of the day?

A: Taking the time to go on a longer walk with the dog and check the sunset.

Q: What are you most looking forward to in the future for events?

A: I'm looking forward to the creativity surrounding F&B and contactless alternatives to the standard buffet line.
