CAROLYN

Q: Where do you call home? Where would your dream work from home location be?

A: These days, home is an apartment in Davis, CA. My dream WFH location would be a house, any house, where I can have a home office with a door!

Q: Tell us about your journey with Bash Creative. How has your role changed since you joined the team?

A: I joined the Bash Creative team as an Associate Producer, with lots of well-developed skills but also some significant gaps in event production. After a year of on-the-job training, I was promoted to the role of Producer and have since started developing training materials for new employees based on my experience in addition to taking lead on both internal and external projects. I can only imagine how our team will continue to grow - and my role along with it!

Q: How do you stay motivated while working from home?

A: The flexibility of working from home keeps me motivated to work smarter and more efficiently. I structure my day so that I'm at my desk when I'm the most productive and step away when I need to re-charges, providing a much healthier work/life balance than going into an office would be for me.

Q: What is your favorite practice/tool/ app to stay organized?

A: Setting goals - daily goals, weekly goals, long-term goals, is my new favorite practice that has really helped me stay on track and organized.

Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

A: Don't be afraid; fear will only hold you back in the long run.

Q: What is your favorite way to unwind at the end of the day?

A: Going outside for a walk, run, or nap in the grass. Often I'll take a short walk in the early afternoon to break up my day and get some sunshine.

Q: What are you most looking forward to in the future for events?

A: I'm most looking forward to seeing how the new world virtual events will develop and integrate with in-person events in the long-term.

J’AIME

Q: Where do you call home? Where would your dream work from home location be?

A: I currently live on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe,CA in a small town called Carnelian Bay with my husband and young son.  My WFH location is pretty dreamy, but if I had to switch it up I'd say Southern Spain overlooking the Meditteranean

Q: Tell us about your journey with Bash Creative. Why did you want to join the team?

A: I've been a fan of Bash Creative for a long time, and when my family decided to move back to the states from a year abroad in Spain Annalee and Danielle were some of the first planners I reached out to.  Jumping back into the workforce after taking a year off to be with my new son was tricky to navigate and I wanted to make sure that my next career move was with a company I loved and a team I truly respected.

Q: What’s the most challenging aspect of balancing motherhood while working full time?

A: The most challenging aspect of balancing motherhood and working full time is exactly that...finding the balance.  It's easy to get wrapped up in projects, so for me, it's important to schedule time on my calendar to do activities with my son, or peel off early to get a walk in with him before the sun goes down.  The crunch of show time is the most difficult when the days are long and it's hard to make time for meaningful time with the family.

Q: What is your favorite practice/tool/ app to stay organized?

A: I love Google Suite!  I use the calendar to map out my work blocks, in addition to meetings, and link any relevant docs that I'll need for those activities.  Like many on the team, I also rely on my to do list which has lived in a google doc for nearly 10 years!

Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

A: The best advice I've ever received is to trust your gut.  Given the experience I have, and that of our team, it's important to trust what is instinctual to you.

Q: What is your favorite way to unwind at the end of the day?

A: I love spending time with my family at the end of the day.  We moved to Lake Tahoe because of our love of the outdoors, so no matter what season it is we try to get outside and stretch our legs at the end of the day.

Q: What are you most looking forward to in the future for events?

A: I'm most curious how hybrid events play a role in event planning for the future.  Given the restrictions of the pandemic, many companies have been forced to pivot to virtual and are seeing good results with reach and attendance for global audiences.  While some elements of event production will always be tied to live events, I'm excited to see what new elements come into play for the future events.

STEPHANIE

Q: Where do you call home? Where would your dream work from home location be?

A: I call Las Vegas my home although my roots are in Michigan. My dream WFH location would be just about any beach. I love water, especially the turquoise kind!

Q: Tell us about your journey with Bash Creative. Why did you want to join the team?

A: I have always admired the way Bash Creative has done things. When I made the decision to join the team it was right before COVID hit and my start date was scheduled right when businesses started to shut down. Although it was a wild time to start a new job, I'm so happy I did. Through all the crazy times their ability to pivot and keep our team intact is something I continue to admire. This team is just full of great people all around!

Q: What has been the biggest challenge transitioning from office life to WFH?

A: The biggest challenge transitioning from office life to WFH has probably been getting used to not sharing an office with a few other bodies. I can't just start talking to a room full of people when working on a project. Now it's all about utilizing Google Chat and Google Meet, but I suppose this may be the norm for a lot of people these days.

Q: What is your favorite practice/tool/ app to stay organized?

A: Google Calendar is used to organize my week. I spend time at the end of each week to plan out the next, but also spend time each day to make sure that my plan still makes sense and pivot where I need to. I am also big into the feeling of writing things down so I still find myself making lists in a notebook. I love the feeling of crossing a task off my list!

Q: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

A: Don't sweat the small stuff! Still working on this one, but it continues to be a goal of mine.

Q: What is your favorite way to unwind at the end of the day?

A: My favorite way to unwind at the end of the day is to spend time with my husband and watching a show. I also enjoy hiking on the weekends to clear my mind or spending time in a pool. If we had a pool, that would definitely be where I like to unwind at the end of the day. As mentioned before, I LOVE water!

Q: What are you most looking forward to in the future for events?

A: I really look forward to a time IRL events can happen again. There really is nothing like being able to interact with others in person. Until then, I continue to learn more about the virtual world of events and how our team can continue to make the magic happen virtually, and also in a hybrid way.
